Accessibility options for everybody

v0.17.0

Accessibility options in every header, a published accessibility report, after parties linked to their events, events filed under the right category, and badges that are easier to tell apart.

Accessibility

  • Accessibility options, from the icon in every header: higher contrast, larger text, wider spacing, a reading font (Atkinson Hyperlegible or OpenDyslexic), links always underlined, and less motion. They apply straight away, stay on your device, and follow your account to other browsers. The reading font reaches profiles and about pages too.
  • Collr has an accessibility conformance report, as a page and a PDF, showing criterion by criterion how the site measures against WCAG 2.2 AA and what is not met yet. The accessibility statement is rewritten to match.
  • A pass across the site: one skip link past the dashboard menu, a visible focus ring on every field, red and grey text that is readable, form fields with an edge you can see, nothing scrolling sideways on the narrowest phones, animation that stops when your device asks for less motion, and quieter text on every stock profile theme that is readable.

Events

  • An event can link its after party. The after party is an event of its own, and each page points to the other. Programmes of sub-events are now for festivals only.
  • Imported events are filed under the right category: a festival as a festival, a workshop or contest as one, and a pup, leather or rubber night under that too. An event now shows under every category it belongs to, not only the first.

Profiles and the directory

  • The Partner and Trusted badges on profiles are the same gold and blue as on event listings, say what they mean, and no other badge a member can earn looks like them.
  • Tapping a community or role on a profile shows everybody in the directory with that tag, instead of typing it into the search box.
  • The contact form asks for a category first, then only the topics in it.
